Hey. Guess what? We just had an earthquake in Sofia. I was sitting at my desk checking email and as soon as it started happening I thought: Hey Cool. An Earthquake.
And I watched the room shake.
Then I thought: Carolyn!? That was your reaction? Hey Cool.
Yep. That was my reaction. I wasn’t worried. I didn’t think: maybe I should climb under my desk Oh no.
I thought: Hey Cool!
Maybe it would have been different had things started falling from the walls. My thought would have probably been: Oh Explicative!!
And now you know. Okay. Got to get back to work.
(Oh and MoM really you can stop worrying. Everything is fine. XOXO.)

HI, I’m a spanish girl living in Sofia as well, I also felt the earthquake and I was a bit scared, because its not the first one, there have been a few lately.
Nice to meet another foreigner in Bulgaria!
@Marta Hey, cool. Glad to know that there are other foreigners out there reading my blog!
I was happily tinkering on a MFC in the office when the earthquake happened. I got the bejesus scared out of me, not because of the quake, but because the HR lady screamed very, very, veeery loud. -_-
@Stan Well, that sucks. I am sorry she scared the bejesus out of you. But your comment really made my day!
Stan, get her back next time and scream “WE’RE ALL GOING TO DIE!!”
😉
Why not, really?
Off topic: What happened with “Under the Yoke”?
I was walking along Graf Ignatiev and I didn’t feel anything, but some fallings bricks from a nearby building got my attention. And then everyone started talking about quakes and calling friends and relatives to check up on them. But when I do feel an earthquake, the usual reaction is more along the lines of “meh, big deal”.
I went looking for information on the earthquake and tremors that have been felt in Bulgaria and thought you should have this advice from the US Embassy.

Do you have a “Survival Kit”?
Are all heavy objects stored “lower than you head”?
I did get a kick out of it.
Be safe,
